The four components:

• Exploring Music in Context — Research, analysis, and practical exercises demonstrating knowledge of musical conventions and performance practices
• Experimenting with Music — A series of documented experiments in creating and performing, developing musical ideas through informed decision-making
• Presenting Music — A portfolio of completed performing and creating works, presented with programme notes across four areas of inquiry
• The Contemporary Music Maker (HL only) — A collaborative real-life musical project, documented as a multimedia presentation
